The results of a five‐year study of chlorambucil in patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis are presented. The effect of treatment was to allow a reduction in corticosteroid dosage and a sustained remission of disease activity in patients. Three patients of the series of 22 developed neoplastic disease, and the significance of this is discussed.
