The health status of MornIngton Island children in 1972 is compared with that described in 1967. There has been an overall Improvement. Despite iron supplementation, iron‐deficiency anaemia occurs and will remain a problem. The predominant problem in the community is the “runny nose syndrome”, especially in children under the age of eight years. The incidence of lactose intolerance is high. The incidence of dental caries is low; however, this may change with the lowered fluoride content of the water supply.
