Patients who had received renal transplants from cadavers were followed up for assessment of their rehabilitation. Employment, recreational activities, family life, sexual activity and physical and mental symptoms were discussed in a semi‐structured interview. Rehabilitation was poor in those patients with a continuing physical disability. For the rest, degree of rehabilitation appeared to improve with time elapsed since transplantation. Impaired sexual ability was a major problem for the male patients.
