A case of complete division of the right renal artery due to trauma is presented. Ten days elapsed before the patient collapsed from intraperitoneal haemorrhage. Control of the haemorrhage was complicated by a severe bleeding state which was managed by packing the areas, closing the abdomen, supplying the deficient factors and reoperating the same evening. The patient recovered. Suggestions as to the prevention of such coagulation defects when massive blood replacement is necessary are made.
