Tumoral calcinosis Is an unusual condition characterized by the presence of a calcified tumour in subcutaneous tissue, most commonly occurring near the hip. Lesions of this type from 27 Melanesian patients in Papua New Guinea seen over a period of three and a half years are reported. The aetiology is briefly discussed.
