Four cases of death following an oral overdose of chloroquine are described. It is probable that suicide or a suicidal gesture was the reason for the overdose in these cases. In three cases death followed rapidly after the overdose; in the fourth, death was delayed by attempts at resuscitation. The amount of chloroquine ingested by each person is not known.
