Because the United States of America is the most technologically advanced country in the world, it faces even graver problems of environmental pollution than any other nation. The public has now wakened up to the need for pollution control but there is still much to be done to improve the quality of life. In this campaign, in which utility will often have to be traded off against environmental health, the American Medical Association is playing an important part.
