Melanomas are uncommon in pigmented races. Despite the relatively high incidence of the condition within Australia and the widespread Interest which has been engendered by the Queensland Melanoma Survey, very few cases indeed have been noted within the indigenous Aboriginal population. This case report relates to a case of advanced melanoma occurring on the foot of a full‐blooded Aboriginal. Despite the degree of local invasion at the time of presentation, the disease ran a relevantly benign course with a survival time of ten years.
