I PROPOSE tonight in this Presidential Address to analyse the future role-of the Australian Medical Association, first in the field of preventive medicine, including those social issues which impinge upon medicine, secondly in the undergraduate and continuing education of our members, and finally in the future development of our health services. I should like to pay particular attention to the future of general practice, and to conclude with some thoughts on how to achieve unity within the ranks of our profession.
