A double‐blind controlled trial of propranolol (Inderal), in a dosage of between 120 and 240 mg a day, and a placebo, each given for two weeks to patients suffering from Parkinsonism or essential tremor, showed that propranolol has a beneficial effect of varying degree on both types of tremor.
