Techniques are described in which simple Sephadex column methods were used for the measurement of the total serum T, level (Tetralute) and the T 3 ‐resin uptake (Trilute). Using these techniques on sera from a group of euthyroid, hyperthyroid and hypothyroid patients, it was found that a combination of the Tetralute and Trilute kit methods was reliable as a diagnostic index of thyroid function.
