Bovine papular stomatitis virus infection is described in a veterinary science student. Virus isolation was successful. Brief mention is made of isolation from four more patients. To our knowledge, isolation of this agent from humans has not previously been reported. It is suggested that the diagnosis be considered when people who handle cattle present with pustular or vesicular lesions.
