As leprosy is endemic in certain areas of Australia, and as some immigrants to Australia from leprosy‐endemic areas are entering this country and subsequently developing the disease, medical practitioners need to be aware of relevant clinical and diagnostic aspects of the condition, and to consider it, when appropriate, in differential diagnosis. The following brief account deals with these aspects.
