Serum folate concentrations were measured in 149 patients receiving treatment with anticonvulsants. Eighty‐seven had concentrations below the lower limit of the normal range (54 of 79 females and 33 of 70 males). The incidence of low serum folate levels was determined for each age group and each sex. This was highest in females between the ages of 10 and 49 years.
