This is a report of two cases of swelling of the neck due to hypertrophy of skin and subcutaneous tissue as a result of frequent and long‐standing massage and pinching of the skin and subcutaneous tissue. In Singapore this practice is still prevalent among some Chinese, who believe that this will get rid of the “heat” that may be responsible for the sickness.
