The attitude and reactions of 155 married women to their pregnancy and labour, their husband and baby, and the hospital, were ascertained. Fears, often related to routine procedures, were uncovered. This survey highlighted some of the areas in which the patient needs more explanation, reassurance and education by her medical attendants and their auxiliaries.
