Newly qualified medical graduates are poorly informed on the legal Implications of medical practice. Their Ignorance may give rise to a fear of their legal responsibilities, or, at worst, a contempt for these, and the graduate may fail to appreciate the obligations relevant to his profession. This article attempts to create a wholesome and conscientious understanding of and respect for the legal responsibilities of the doctor.
