The details of treatment of 135 incidents of infection in 104 patients are assessed at the bacteriological level. Thirty‐three out of 44 patients with urinary tract infections were cleared, as were 25 out of 49 patients with respiratory tract infections. The results showed that gentamicin was successful in treating 14 of 23 wound infections, and 10 of 20 patients with septicæmia. Side effects were few, and this is accredited to the fact that all patients had serum assays performed each day.
