Immunopathological studies on three cases of bullous pemphigoid are presented. All cases demonstrated humoral IgG specific for the basement membrane zone of stratified squamous epithelium, and in‐vivo binding of IgG and complement in the basement membrane zone of the patients’ skin. In addition, humoral autoantibodies against thyroid elements and gastric parietal cells were detected in two of the patients.
