Molluscum contaglosum has occurred in six infants and children with preexisting atopic dermatitis, predominantly in areas of eczematous skin. The association of these conditions has apparently previously been reported in only one case. Possible reasons for the susceptibility of eczematous skin to infection with molluscum contagiosum virus are discussed. It is suggested that the topical application of corticosteroid may be at least a contributing factor.
