A great deal has been written about the problems of verbal communication in medicine. The problems of communication between doctor and patient, doctor and doctor, and doctor and student have been highlighted; much less often, solutions have been proposed. It is only rarely, however, that the opinions of those with whom the doctor wishes to communicate have been sought. This essay puts the more or less unsolicited opinions of a final year medical student.
