A review is presented of 230 cases of inhaled foreign body in children. In 20 cases it was in the larynx, in 13 in the trachea and in 197 in a bronchus. Four‐fifths of the patients were aged less than four years. In relation to the diagnosis of an inhaled foreign body, the importance of a high index of suspicion is stressed. The management of these patients is discussed.
