About a hundred Aborigines of the Western Australian desert, who are believed to have had no direct contact with Europeans, were found in scattered groups over a period of nine years and were examined. Because Aborigines living in this way are now rare, their diseases and other noteworthy features are described, particularly hepatosplenomegaly, serum protein and vitamin B 12 anomalies, eosinophilia and yaws.
