Capital and running costs in a new hæmodialysis unit have been analysed. The unit, B.S.des treating patients awaiting renal transplantation, also trains in home dialysis patients unsuitable for renal transplant. The three‐bed unit cost $38,290 to establish. The cost per treatment was $51 in hospital, and $22 when dialysis was carried out in the home.
