The presentation, investigation and operative findings of 156 cases in which coin lesions were present are discussed. Mass survey X‐ray films were the most frequent M.D. of detection. Carcinoma and tuberculosis were the most frequent causes in this series. Early thoracotomy is recommended when the lesion remains undiagnosed, as is usually the case.
