This résumé of the Australian contribution to the Human Adaptability section of the international Biological Programme has mentioned only those projects which were initiated as a direct result of the international Biological Programme. It has not included projects which had been commenced before the provisional programme was prepared, and which were included as part of Australia's contribution. Some projects in this category have been successfully completed, others are still progressing; for example, the multidisciplinary study at Pari village by Dr mian Maddocks, the work on kuru by Dr R. W. Hornabrook, and the cardio‐vascular study in an isolated highland village by Dr P. Sinnett have all produced interesting and valuable results.
