Information concerning infant feeding practices was collected from all the child health centres in Tasmania. Child health sisters interviewed 547 mothers whose babies were born between March 31 and April 27, 1969. The results were compared particularly with a 1952 survey, and showed a continuing decline in the incidence of breast feeding and a changing pattern in artificial feeding.
