A follow‐up of babies subject to birth trauma and anoxia has been carried out up to the age of two years. The Incidence of cerebral palsy in the two groups has been estimated and compared with that In the general population. A significant Increase In the Incidence of cerebral palsy in the groups under consideration Is established. The obstetric background of the mothers in the various groups is studied. Maternal age, meconium staining In the liquor and neonatal cerebral signs are significant. An attempt is made to define the type of patient liable to have a baby with cerebral palsy, In order to encourage obstetricians to try to prevent cerebral palsy In the baby.
