A practical programme of management of the battered baby syndrome is set out in some detail. This is the programme presently carried out in the Department of Child Health at the Adelaide Children's Hospital Inc. It is hoped that a similar system of investigation and management may be applicable to other pædiatric centres in Australia and elsewhere.
