The cases of 1,840 patients with cancer of the breast, who attended St Vincent's Hospital between the years 1954 and 1965, are reviewed. The methods of treatment used are mentioned and results achieved presented. Staging of breast cancer according to the TNM and the modified Manchester methods is discussed. Clinical features of the disease and delay In presentation for treatment are discussed.
