Fourteen patients were studied during routine cardiac catheterization and had left ventricular function curves constructed before and after beta‐adrenergic blockade. Seven patients received “Inderal” (propranolol) and seven “Trasicor” (oxprenolol). “Trasicor” resulted in less depression of left ventricular function. A limited double‐blind study confirmed that “Trasicor” is capable of reducing the frequency of attacks of angina pectoris.
