This report concerns the results of a retrospective study of deaths from asthma in Tasmania during the period 1964–1966. It compares the deaths found in the Registrar‐General's return with those found by other means, and suggests reasons for the differences. By recording details of the duration of asthma, the age of death, the months in which they occurred, and some details of the investigations and treatment, the report lays the foundation on which later studies of deaths from asthma in Tasmania might be based. The circumstances of some deaths are described in detail.
