A gynæcological cancer survey, which Included examination of the abdomen, breasts, and pelvis, in addition to the taking of Papanicolaou smears, was carried out in May, 1967, in Busselton, Western Australia. One thousand and twenty‐six women aged over 21 years were screened in five days by a team of three gynæcologists. The results were coded, so that they could be transferred directly to punch cards. Fourteen per cent of those women attending had conditions that warranted further attention by their own doctor. Vaginal Infection was rare: there were only three cases of trichomonal vaginitis, and only 27 cases of monilial vaginitis. Only three of the cervical cytology smears contained malignant cells.
