While emotions have been stirred and the subject of abortion has been discussed ad nauseam, no concrete proposals have been submitted which might help to overcome the present tragic situation of unwanted babies galore. Increased family planning facilities and more consideration for unmarried mothers could help some of the avoidable social tragedies. The so‐called permissive society is accepted without any serious attempt to arouse the public conscience. A proposal submitting a possible means of influencing present trends of social behaviour amongst married couples and teenagers is presented for consideration and discussion. I hope that some action will follow.
