A woman, aged 40 years, with a history of treated myxœdema, developed Addison's disease and became acutely psychotic. Her disturbed mental state led to her admission to a psychiatric unit. The case report illustrates the difficulties of identifying combined endocrine deficiencies. Phenothiazines may have aggravated her condition and are contra‐indicated in the control of psychoses which may be secondary to thyroid deficiency.
