An investigation into possible eye and skin hazards of workers exposed to ultra‐violet light bulbs used In the detection of forged $10 notes was made after complaints of eye and skin irritation were made. No clinical evidence of eye irritation or damage was found, but some evidence of “sunburn” of the forearms due to the ultra‐violet light was seen. Control of eye and skin exposure was relatively simple, and the complaints have since ceased.
