The possible synergistic effect of ethanol and chlorodyne in producing hepatotoxicity is described. It is stressed that the danger lies in the chloroform vehicle of the chlorodyne. The serious public health dangers of having a readily available analgesic with potential addictive and hepatotoxic side effects is emphasized.
