Six cases of filariasis are recorded in immigrants in Western Australia. The pathological features and long intervals between attacks of lymphangitis tend to incriminate death of adult worms in their pathogenesis. There was a proved life–span of four years in one patient, probable longevity of over three years in two others, and of at least 20 years in one patient. A case of chyluria recurring during seven pregnancies is described. The possible risk of transmission by microfilaria carriers from Asia is discussed.
