Four Mantoux tests using 10TU PPD tuberculin were carried out on 50 tuberculous subjects, using a glass syringe and a disposable plastic syringe immediately after filling them, and plastic syringes at intervals of two and a half and five minutes after filling. No significant differences were observed in the size of the four reactions obtained, and it appears that the use of plastic syringes is unlikely to influence the size of Mantoux reactions.
