Data available for (I) the development of anti‐Rh 0 (D) in 131 control mothers at risk and the prevention of its formation by injection of Rh 0 GAM in 121 mothers at risk during the period April 1, 1966, to August 31, 1967, and (II) Rh‐negative mothers who developed anti‐Rh 0 (D) for the first time during pregnancies in the same period, who had adequate documentation during the current and previous pregnancies, are reviewed in relation to various current hypotheses. The adequacy of the present treatment with anti‐Rhn(D) immune globulin within 72 hours of delivery of the first group‐compatible, Rh‐positive baby in relation to the prevention of Rh‐immunization is discussed.
