A comparison is made between the infection rate of 153 cutaneous lesions excised with the use of local antibiotic spray and 127 lesions excised without antibiotic spray. The overall Infection rate was reduced from 17.3% to 5.9%. A case is made for the prophylactic use of antibiotic spray as a routine in minor surgery.
