In a controlled trial of methods of treating nocturnal enuresis in otherwise healthy children, pad‐and‐bell conditioning produced the best response, both initially and at follow‐up one year later. Imipramine initially produced a significantly superior response, compared with placebo, but there was a considerable relapse rate with gradual withdrawal. Amphetamine proved of little value.
