Patient evaluation of doctors is held to be an inevitable part of medical care, and one way of discovering the nature of the evaluation is to study people's reactions to statements, both positive and negative, made about doctors. The results of such an investigation carried out in a large metropolitan area in New South Wales are compared with the results of American studies, and the conclusion reached is that there is considerable agreement between the two countries in their evaluation of medical care.
