Twenty out of 22 tuberculous patients with antituberculosis drug hypersensitivity were successfully desensitized by corticosteroids without interruption of chemotherapy. No adverse effects on the response to their disease was noted in patients with tuberculosis, nor did deterioration in atypical disease occur. It is stressed that rapid suppression of such allergic reactions depends on the promptness with which steroids are administered.
