Bauer (Monatschr. f. Geburtsli. u. Gyncek., Berlin, Bd. xv.) states that of 1600 confinements in the Stettin Maternity, during the past ten years, there were forty-nine (3 per cent.) cases of contracted pelvis. This does not include minor cases of flat pelvis, where the conjugate was not contracted more than 1 cm. Bauer remarks on the comparative rarity of pelvic contraction in a district where rickets is on the increase.
