A Metastatic Deposit of Bronchial Carcinoma in a Hydrocele Misdiagnosed "Endothelioma.*' R. A. Willis (Joum. Path, and Bad., July, 1938).?The author reports the case of a patient, aged 81 years, in whom a left-sided hydrocele which had been growing for some months was removed at operation, and found to contain polypoid tumour growth which was diagnosed as an endothelioma arising from the serosal cells of the tunica vaginalis. Death took place fifteen months later. Recurrence was found in the inguinal region and metastases in many of the organs. The primary growth was found to be a carcinoma in the bronchus to the upper lobe of the left lung. It was relatively small and might very easily have been missed by a more cursory autopsy. The patient had had a hemoptysis eight-and-a-half years previously, and the author believes that the tumour was probably present at this time.
