Skin disease forms a large part of tropical practice, but those seeking assistance in treating such conditions will have to look elsewhere. Whilst it may be argued that many of the skin diseases seen in the tropics are cosmopolitan, the same argument could be applied to a number of other diseases with which the author deals. Tropical ulcer, coral ulcer, desert sore, chigger infestation and prickly heat are considered briefly.
