corpuscular diameter was 6'2/L, the mean corpuscular volume was 104 cubic /L, the mean corpuscular hremoglobin content was 30 microgrammea and the mean corpuscular hremoglobin concentration was 29%. Examination of the red blood cells revealed pronounced anisocytosis, but llttle poikilocytosis. Microcytes were fairly numerous, but the cells appeared evenly stained throughout and no central pallor was present. Polychromasic-staining cells were fairly numerous. Some of the neutrophile polymorphonuclear Ieucoeytes had multisegmental nuclei, otherwise the leucocytes appeared normal. The appearance of the erythrocytes in the film and the low mean corpuscular diameter but slightly increased mean corpuscular volume indicated spherocytosis.
