ー ィ ッ エ セ ー ィ セ 「 ゥ 。 becamevery marked. Diarrhesaoccurred at tlJl1ell, but the urinary symptomsdisappeared. The musculation becamevery sott and the chUdwasa picture of abject misery. The hair becamedry and subsequentlythe telDperature rose slightly at times. A mild bronchitis developedand lasted for fourteen days. The child's condition gradu....ly improved, until at the end of four months she was qaip. quite well. This was the secondattack of erythfClldema. At the age of twelve months the child developed erythrredema and eighteen months elapsed before it recovered. The gums were badly affected and all incisors were shed. From then until quite recently the child had been perfectly healthy. The second patient, a brother of the first, was a child aged elevenmonths. The child had beenperfectly healthy until three months after the onset of symptoms in his sister, when he began to develop the disease. This case was almost identical to the last mentioned and complete recovery occurred in approximately four months. Since their recovery, both children have developednormally. The secondattack in the elder child is most interesting; I have not seena similar case reported. The family history of neither of the parentsgave any suspicionof erythreedema. The dietetic history was excellent and the hygienic conditions of the family beyond reproach. The occurrenceof the secondcaseunder theseconditions points strongly to the infective natureof this·disease.
