Atrophy of the optic nerve may result and for this reason the pregnancyshould be terminatedas soon aspossible. In the case reportedbelow the increasingblindnesswas the only sign of toxremia. However, it was decided to terminate the pregnancyand the emptying of the uterus relieved the condition with really dramatic suddenness.
